Geography “Out and About ” visit The Holderness Coast 28/09/19.
The Wellfield Geography Department went out once again this time on one of its most adventurous outings. Mr Potts, Mr Pearson Miss Draper took a party of 13 Most Able and Talented students along the full length of the Holderness Coast in East Yorkshire. The visit started with the magnificent scenery at Flamborough Head, where sea arches, sea stacks and all kind of spectacular geological features were seen first hand. Next came a fish and chip lunch at the seaside resort of Bridlington. Onto Mappleton , where the young people witnessed first hand the effect that the erosive power of the sea had upon the soft boulder clay cliffs. Finally, a detailed examination of the sea defences at Withernsea ,was followed by ice cream. The young people enjoyed this trip immensely.
