We are excited to be proposing a school tour to Ypres to support our curriculum plans for year 7 and 8 History pupils and enhance learning experiences within the school.
Here are the key details about the planned trip:
· 3 days and 2 nights
· Departs on 23 October 2020
· Returns on 25 October 2020
· The provisional cost is £415 per pupil
· This price includes:
· Return executive coach travel
· Return channel crossings
· Accommodation: Full Board, Ypres Lodge
· NST 24hr emergency contact service whilst on tour
· The group size is 20
· The adults accompanying the group will be to a ratio of one teacher / seven pupils and will include me as visit leader.
The itinerary for the trip will include a visit to the following places Croonaert Wood, In Flanders Fields Museum & Talbot House, Sanctuary Wood Hill 62 Museum, Newfoundland Park, Langemark Cemetery, Lochnagar Crater, Menin Gate & the Last Post Ceremony, Thiepval Memorial & Visitor Centre and Tyne Cot British Cemetery.
In addition to the tour cost, we recommend that your child has some spending money for the trip for meals en route, snacks and to purchase any gifts. They will also require a current passport with at least 6 months validity and a valid EHIC card.
To secure a place for your son, daughter or ward on this trip, a non-refundable deposit of £100 is required, along with the completed permission slip by 21st January 2020 A further payment of £150 by 17th March 2020 is required followed by a final payment of all outstanding monies by 15th July 2020. Interim payments can be made between the dates outlined above.
