Construction – BTEC level 2 First award in Construction and the Built Environment

The Level 2 First Award and First Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment is aimed at pupils who are already working at Level 5 and above in English, Maths and Science and may wish to follow a career in the technical and professional area of construction.
The course may also appeal to students who may wish to pursue an apprenticeship but have the ability to develop their career in future years.
This construction course provides a specialist work related programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding, practical and technical skills required in the sector.

Construction – BTEC level 2 First Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment

The First Certificate explores more practical units and is a double option alternative. You will learn how to lay bricks in different bonds, plaster a wall, set out and tile a roof and use a wide range of hand skills to produce a variety of timber joints.

Construction – City and Guilds 6218 Basic Construction Skills

Students need to complete a minimum of 12 practical units.
The City and Guilds course offers student a good basic introduction into the various crafts available in construction including:- carpentry and joinery, brick and blockwork, plastering and other associated trades.
